WINGATE, Ind. (CNS) -- Mrs. Gertie Hays, 86, of Wingate, died at 6:25 a.m. today (Oct. 11, 1976) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Born Feb. 7, 1890, near Corydon, she was the daughter of Robert and Maude Stepro Richards. She was married on March 26, 1907, to Raleigh Hays, who survives. She resided in Wingate 45 years. She was a member of the Elmdale Community Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Beulah "Bea" Roden of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Kinder and Mrs. Emma Marsh, both of Bloomington, Ill.; two grandchildren, Don Nevitt of New Richmond and Mrs. Linda Reynolds of Covington; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Arlie, in 1933. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, with the Rev. Jack Swank officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
